Our upcoming book 101 Tales of Magic and Mystery is funding NOW on Kickstarter! This is a treasury of 101 adventure plots rooted in the history and folklore of Renaissance England. A wealth of inspiration, atmosphere, and narrative roleplaying, all for only $15!
Drintera® is returning to Kickstarter!
We’ve replanned the Kickstarter for Drintera, our TTRPG worldbuilding project. Drintera is a fantasy world inspired by heroic myths and legends, designed for rich narrative storytelling. It has a special commitment to representing as many world cultures as possible. Read more about Drintera.
The replanned Kickstarter will produce a single book, Drintera Annual 2026. This will focus on Throntru, the continent based on Indigineous North American nations. Imagine a fantasy world where the “new world” was never colonized, but rather met foreign nations on equal terms. We have an international creative team anchored by three writers with Native heritage and a professional cultural advisor.

Free creature from A Bestiary of Enchanted England: The Bugbear!
For our Kickstarter for A Bestiary of Enchanted England, we issued a Halloween backer challenge: if we get to 50 backers by the end of today, we’ll release a spooky creature from the upcoming book under the Open Game License (OGL). Our backers rose to the challenge, so we’re proud to present the near-final version of the Bugbear by Mark Lawford! Free for the community to share, modify, and redistribute under the OGL.
We had previously teased the Bugbear back in February 2022. You may find it interesting to compare how the text has evolved and how we’ve represented the creature using Fate Condensed rules.
Halloween Backer Challenge for a Bestiary of Enchanted England
The Kickstarter for A Bestiary of Enchanted England is gaining momentum. We’ve unlocked the first two stretch goals and still going strong! To keep the momentum going, here is the Halloween backer challenge:
If we get 50 backers by midnight on October 30, we’ll publish the “rough edit” of a spooky monster (the bugbear) from A Bestiary of Enchanted England on our website under the Open Gaming License.
If we get 100 backers, we’ll also publish Grim, King of the Ghosts.
Beware the Unicorn
If you thought unicorns in sixteenth-century literature are all about sparkly rainbows and laying their heads in maidens’ laps. think again. Unicorns in Renaissance stories are fierce, untamed creatures. That’s why they’re so prominent in heraldry.
"wert thou the unicorn, pride and wrath would confound thee and make thine own self the conquest of thy fury"
William Shakespeare, Timon of Athens
If you’re ready for a fierce unicorn that’s uninterested in maidens, rainbows, or peace and love, check out this illustration by Steven Bachan — and back A Bestiary of Enchanted England on Kickstarter!
