Drintera artwork: "Defense" by Jeff Koch

Jeff Koch has been a freelance artist for Shewstone Publishing since 2020, with illustration credits including Magonomia Core Rules and A Bestiary of Enchanted England. We selected his illustration "Defense” to be the cover illustration of Drintera Magazine issue#5, but had to crop it to fit the magazine format. Here is the full illustration for you to admire.

Drintera Issue #4 slightly delayed

Issue #4 (June 2024) is currently in layout and proofreading. There is a good reason it's running behind. We've contracted with a talented new (to us) layout artist, Luna Norwood. She completely redesigned the interior look of Drintera Magazine.

Her results are so outstanding, I decided to restart the layout of the June issue using her design. Take a look at page 11!

I don't know exactly when Issue #4 will be ready. Layout for the July issue will be started as soon as June is done, so I have full confidence next month's issue will be delivered before July 31.

I'm very proud of the work the team is doing. Become a supporter to help Drintera pay freelancers like Luna for their outstanding work!

Drintera Issue #3: The Cradle of the Faceless

I realized quite recently the decision to use a published TTRPG setting vs. homebrew is not either/or. Every game master needs creative fuel: adventure locations, plot hooks, lore, characters, factions, wondrous places. That’s what Drintera is all about. Buy Issue #3 from our Patreon store, or become a supporter and save up to 20% off the cover price.

In this issue:

  • Cover story: The Cradle of the Faceless, a bazaar of wonders and treachery for high-level characters.

  • Zuvinar, goddess of the sun

  • Creature lore: aberrant metamorphs (shapechanging monsters)

Podcast: How to Make a Cat Alchemist in Magonomia®

The star of the podcast is the cat, not the woman.

Magonomia, the RPG of Renaissance wizardry, is featured on the fun podcast How to Make a Literal Cat in Your Favorite RPG. This was a delightful episode. Hosts Joel and Avalon walk through the whole process of making an alchemist character from scratch (no pun intended). Along the way they give a very good feel for what the game is like, including an overview of the Alchemy spells.

Here’s the finished character sheet.

You can buy Magonomia on DriveThruRPG.com.
